The American Civil War was a pivotal point in the history of our nation, yet many people do not really understand the events which caused it, or how the conflict re-shaped our nation. Now students and adults can travel with Dan Horn and Discerning History to understand the men and events that led to the Civil War, all from a uniquely Christian worldview. The War Between the States Series is a three volume set that analyzes the events that led to the war, studies the battles and campaigns, follows the end-results to the present, and helps viewers think more biblically about history.

Team Members
Dan Horn is a writer, tour guide, computer programmer and pastor based in North Carolina. He is an elder at Reformation Baptist Church in Wake Forest, North Carolina, and has written several books on theology. He has been married to Kendra for twenty-eight years and they have three children, Joshua, Rachel and Stephen. He had been the president of Datatek, Inc., a small software firm, for twenty-four years.
Joshua Horn is a writer for Discerning History. He also authored the Civil War 150th blog, which covered the nation’s bloodiest war as it happened – 150 years later. His particular interest in is military history, and he has led tours to many of the important sites from the American Civil War. He holds a Bachelor’s degree in history from Thomas Edison State College. His research has covered a variety of eras, including writing the script for the documentary series Discerning History: War Between the States.
