The Bloody Wheatfield – Gettysburg 150th Video

Some of the fiercest fighting of the Battle of Gettysburg occurred on July 2nd, 1863, as the forces pushed back and forth through what would be called the Bloody Wheatfield. Watch this recreation of the battle from the Blue Gray Alliance’s reenactment at the Gettysburg 150th!

  • My great-great-great grandfather of the U.S. 7th Infantry , Sgt. Michael McLennon , a career soldier and an Irish immigrant, was seriously wounded here, but later died of malaria while serving with the Union Army of occupation in Tallahassee, FL in 1867. He is interred in the Union soldier section of the Old City cemetery in Tallahassee.
