My great-great-great grandfather of the U.S. 7th Infantry , Sgt. Michael McLennon , a career soldier and an Irish immigrant, was seriously wounded here, but later died of malaria while serving with the Union Army of occupation in Tallahassee, FL in 1867. He is interred in the Union soldier section of the Old City cemetery in Tallahassee.
